The Philadelphia History Museum provides its visitors a gateway to the history of Philadelphia covering 70 years. It displays priceless objects that include the wampum belt given by the Lenni Lenape Indians in 1682 to William Penn.

The museum also houses the largest map of Philadelphia. It stretches over the museum?s entire gallery floor in one of the permanent exhibitions, the Experience Philadelphia. A tour of the museum will give the visitors a background on South Philadelphia down to Montgomery County through the different objects and images related to the history of the city.

Aside from its wide collection, the Museum has its own research center and a 10,000 square foot collections center that stores all the objects and displays related to Philadelphia?s history.
