The Castle Hill Light, situated near the Castle Hill Inn and Resort, is a historic lighthouse that is located in the Ocean Drive area of Newport, Rhode Island. It was built in 1890 in the property that was once owned by Alexander Agassiz, a well known naturalist, zoologist, and oceanographer from Harvard University. He sold the land to the US government for $1. In 1938, Agassiz? daughter-in-law sold the whole property to JT O?Connell, a grandfather to the Inn?s current owners.

Today, the Castle Hill Light still provides navigational help to the US Coast Guard and other boaters that are entering the areas in its vicinity. The lighthouse is a highlight of the inn and resort, but it is still closed to the public.
