Built in 1885 measuring 131 feet, the Coronet is one of the world?s largest and oldest schooner yachts in the planet. The majestic water vessel was built for Rufus T. Bush, a well known businessman involved in the oil industry, and designed by William Townsend.

The Coronet became famous in 1887 after winning a 3000-mile race with a $10,000 stake against the yacht Dauntless. This victory led to a first page report about the event.

The Coronet was passed to various owners over the years. Another notable exploit of the boat is its around the world trip for the religious organization, The Kingdom. After being owned by the said group, it was acquired by the International Yacht Restoration School in 1995. They restored the vessel and helped it secure a spot in the National Register of Historic Places.
