Built for Edward King in the mid 1840s, the Edward King House can is located in Newport, Rhode Island. It was designed in the Italian Villa style by architect Richard Upjohn. It is one of the earliest representations of the said architectural style, making the house historically significant, aside from the other facts that are associated with the house.

When it was built in the 1840s, the Edward King House was the largest and grandest in all of Newport, to be later trumped in size and lavishness by the other Bellevue Avenue mansions. King soon became the largest landowner in town by 1860.

The Edward King House is primarily made with brick and has a prominent three story tower. It is a National Historic Landmark. It now serves as a senior citizen center.
