The Island Free Library in Rhode Island is known to be a prestigious one since it was once again hailed as 5-starred by the Library Journal. They are proud to announce that they were able to accomplish this in complete three years consecutively. This library was made way back during the ancient days of 1875. It was under the name of The Island Library Association. All its members were very interested with helping to improve the intellectual level of the ones living in their community along with their frequent visitors.

It was established by a librarian named as Arthur W. Brown. It just started with having 250 volumes all fitting in one bookcase located within the town hall which is also located right at the end part of the Center Road. It already made expansion plans twice in 1992 and 2002. They have a lot of events and programs perfect to be participated by teens and kids alike. They are such a great community bonding tool for everyone especially in Block Island.
