The Modern Diner is known for a couple of things:
1. For its confusing name, being one of the oldest diners of its kind that?s still operating today.
2. For being the last remaining sterling streamlined diners who are still in operation.
3. For being the very first diner listed as a National Historic Place.
4. For winning a legal case when Disney used its image without the operators? consent.

The Modern Diner is definitely a site to visit, especially for diner fans and enthusiasts. It has been one of the institutions in Rhode Island, being the Original Diner State, itself.

Built in 1940, Modern Diner has become a part of the National Register of Historic Places sometime in 1978.
