Touro Synagogue is renowned for being the longest-standing synagogue in the United States. Over two centuries old, the Newport Touro Synagogue has also been referred to by President John F. Kennedy as one of the country?s greatest symbols of liberty. Beside that, the Touro Synagogue is recognized for possessing one of the finest architectural designs in the region.

Although considered a historical landmark and one of Newport?s most popular attractions, the Rhode Island Touro Synagogue is still an active and full-service religious institution. Religious services and activities in the synagogue are headed by Rabbi Mordechai Eskovitz. For Shabbat services, make sure you visit the synagogue during Friday evenings and Saturday mornings.

If you wish to participate in any of the religious activities held in Touro Synagogue, please remember to come in proper attire and adhere to rules for gender segregation during services.
