The Trinity Church, founded in 1698, is the oldest Episcopal parish in the state of Rhode Island. The Georgian building visible today was built around 1726, years after the congregation was established.

Trinity Church?s design was based mostly on different churches in England. It is made entirely of wood, and is believed to be the only religious construction of the sort to have a three-tiered wineglass pulpit that is still in its original place, right in front of the altar, as it was centuries ago.

There are quite a number of notable items inside the Trinity Church. The most popular of which is the first organ of the church, which dates back to 1731.

The Trinity Church was designated as a National Historic Landmark in 1968.
