The Camden Battlefield is a historic site in Camden, South Carolina. It is the very spot where the Battle of Camden took place on August 16, 1780.

The Battle of Camden a notable event during the American Revolutionary War, also known as the American War of Independence. This occurrence was a major British forces victory in the South. It led to the strengthening of Britain?s hold of the Carolinas, especially since it took place sometime after Charleston was captured. It caused major setbacks for the American forces and was a very big embarrassment to Major General Horatio Gates who led the troops that fought the skirmish.

The Camden Battlefield is marked by the DeKalb Monument. It was declared as a National Historic Landmark in 1961.
