The Carolina First Center came with many names before being officially branded with its current name after it was acquired by the City of Greenville in 2007. It was originally built as the “Textile Hall” 2 years after the first Southern Textile Exposition was held at the former Piedmont and Northern Railroad Warehouse in downtown Greenville.

Today, the Carolina First Center is known as one of the biggest convention and meeting venues in the United States having an exhibition area of 280,000 square feet. Not to mention a 60,000 square-foot meeting and conference area. It has also become a primary choice among companies, organizations and individuals to hold tradeshows, corporate meetings, special events and banquets. It has recently undergone a $22 million renovation, so visitors are sure to experience higher value in terms of service, facilities and equipments.
