The Chappelle Administration Building is a historic structure inside the campus of Allen University, located in Columbia, South Carolina. The structure is notable mostly for its architecture, but unlike other buildings, it?s not only about its aesthetic design that makes it special. The whole process of its architecture has helped it land a National Historic Landmark declaration in 1976.

Mostly, the Chappelle Administration Building is special for being designed by John Anderson Lankford. Lankford is best known for being the ?dean of black architects.?
