The Children?s Museum of South Carolina is an interactive museum which features science, technology, culture, and art exhibits. The museum opened in 1994 at a 1,200-square foot space in a local mall. When the museum began to expand, it was relocated in a 7,500 square feet facility in 1995 and extended an additional 1,200 square feet in 1996. Currently, it is located in Myrtle Place along Oak Street in Myrtle Beach.

There are total of 19 interactive exhibits inside the Children?s Museum of South Carolina. The Discover South Carolina features endemic animal and plant species in South Carolina as well as significant timeline in South Carolina?s history. The Magic School Bus offers a virtual fun ride with field trip videos with the iconic character of Ms. Frizzle. It?s Electric exhibit shows how electricity is generated. A group of kids or a family can build their own circuits in the exhibit to experience producing their own electricity.

The Express Yourself Art Center is an interactive art exhibit where children can create their own masterpiece of art. Children can also enjoy basic mathematics like fraction and counting while baking pizza in Pizza Delivery Truck. In Kids Medical Center and Dr. Molar?s Dental Clinic exhibit, children can act as a doctor, dentist, X-ray technician, nurse, and even patient as they learn about human anatomy.

Other exhibits in the museum are as follows: Wildlife About Plants, Get ready Get Set Grow!, Snail Mail Post Office, Learn to Drive VW, Recycling Center, Gem and Fossil Mining, Hurricane Simulator, Habitat Habit, WPDE Continuous News Desk, USS Kids-A-Float, Bubble Mania, South Carolina Fossil Hunt, and Put It Into Words.
