The Coker Experimental Farms is one of the treasures that Hartsville is so proud of having. It was the farm of David Coker who is the son of the mayor who utilized the most modern of techniques to scientifically breed crops right at the very site of the farms. He first started with cotton and expanded to a wider variety of crops, especially the vegetables.

The most frequent visitors of the place would be farmers who would want to be better in their chosen field and be amazed with the features of the farm. It has exhibits that feature the impact of the agriculture of the southern part of the country. It also has the perfect replica of the original barn used for making dairy.
