Also known as the Arsenal Hill, the Columbia Historic District is a historically significant area in the city of Columbia, South Carolina. It is located in the former city limits that were defined in 1786.

The Columbia Historic District is known as one of the oldest neighbourhoods in the city. It was established in the 1820 as a “fashionable residential” area, composed of mansions and beautiful homes built before the Civil War. It also became a politically significant area, as it is where the Governor’s Mansion is located.

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971, the Columbia Historic District is cherished for both its architectural value and its role being a living evidence of the city’s growth.
