Neighboring the massive super-regional Coastal Grand Mall is the Myrtle Beach Mall, a shopping center that has been in operation in the area for twenty five years already. It was opened in 1986 as the Briarcliffe Mall, which was later changed to the Colonial Mall Myrtle Beach and to the current name starting in 2007. It was the second mall that was opened in the area, with the old Myrtle Square Mall being the first one.

The Myrtle Beach Mall has more than seventy stores under its roof. It may not be as big as the Coastal Grand Mall but it does have its own charms. For one, it is home to the only Bass Pro Shops location in the state of South Carolina, giving it a unique air and following despite the tough competition.

Other stores that can be found in the Myrtle Beach Mall are Victoria’s Secret, American Eagle Outfitters, Dress Barn, Belk, JCPenney, Finish Line, and Hallmark among many others. It also has the Carmike Theatre.
