It?s no secret that looking back to the past, a lot of official decisions and ?trends? are quite harsh compared to today?s standards. Take the historic Oconee County Cage for example. This historic cage on wheels is actually a part of the county?s law enforcement measures, which can be considered as inhumane today.

Nonetheless, the Oconee County Cage is still considered as a historic piece of object today. It was used to hold prisoners who were being transferred. It was used in the early years of twentieth century until the 1930s when the county had already built a new jail and acquired gasoline powered trucks.

Today, the Oconee County Cage is still being kept in good condition by the Oconee Law and Enforcement Center as a reminder of the harsh conditions that were put on convicts back in the day.
