Located in Wedgefield, South Carolina is the historic plantation cemetery known as the Singleton?s Graveyard. It was established as a family cemetery for the Singletons, a prominent and wealthy bloodline in the state, descendants to Colonel Matthew Singleton. They were also connected by marriage to a former US President, Martin Van Buren. They owned several plantations, and the graveyard is located in one, known as the Melrose Plantation.

There are at least 43 known graves in the Singleton?s Graveyard. Most of the bodies resting here are members of the Singleton family, including the Colonel Matthew Singleton. However, the most notable grave on the site was of Governor George McDuffie, who was married to Mary Rebecca Singleton.
The Singleton?s Graveyard was added on the National Register in 1976.
