The St. Stephen?s Episcopal Church may be a small, country parish church that could be easily dismissed by some at first glance, but it is an actual historic site tucked away in the beautiful state of South Carolina. Built in 1767, St. Stephen?s is one of the few remaining Colonial era churches that are still in use as a worship place today.

According to some records, General Francis Marion?s friends and relatives helped to construct the St. Stephen?s Episcopal Church. Some also say that it is possible that the General himself attended mass at the site, although there are no records to back up this claim.

In any case, the St. Stephen?s Episcopal Church is still worth checking out, especially if you?re already in the area of St. Stephen, South Carolina.
