Founded in 1986 by Calvin Gilmore, a singer and entrepreneur, the site is actually one of the most treasured entertainment venues in the beautiful resort city of Myrtle Beach.

The Carolina Opry is best known for its shows that continuously get sold out regularly. It is the home of a variety show named after the venue and various other shows that are in different genres like comedy, musical, and even dance. It also hosts the LIGHT, which is a Laser Extravaganza and The Carolina Opry Christmas Special.
