The USS Clamagore is a historic submarine unit. It was built by the Electric Boat Company of Groton, Connecticut and launched in 1945. It was commissioned the same year to duty, under the leadership of Commander SC Loomis, Jr. She was still in training when the Second World War ended.

USS Clamagore’s first assignment was in Key West, and servered there until 1947. She then became a part of the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard. After a while, it then returned to Key West and operated around the locality and in the Caribbean and Mediterranean for 8 years.

Decommissioned in 1975, the USS Clamagore was then donated as a museum ship in 1979. It is currently a part of the Patriot’s Pont Naval and Maritime Museum in Charleston, South Carolina.
