The War Between the States Museum was organized in1988 by the Sons of Confederate Veterans members. It is housed in the residence of R. Frank McKain. Most of the displayed artifacts in the War Between the States Museum were given to the museum by the Sons of the Confederate Veterans members.

The War Between the States Museum displays collection of guns, bullets, military uniforms, swords, antique armor and a host of personal items. Included in this collection are the rare books and important documents throughout the war. As one enters the museum one can see the pictures of the war veterans. The pictures of government officials, soldiers, sailors, and civilians as well are hung in the walls of the museum.

The exhibit showcases several items from the Florence Stockade, which were then the prison camp for Union soldiers. Also featured in this museum is a replica of the Stockade. A library containing rare manuscripts and a souvenir gift shop is also a feature in the Museum. What are you waiting for- come and visit it!
