The Cosmos Mystery Area was discovered by 2 college boys in 1952. As they were looking for a site to build their summer cabin, they entered the area, which gave them a feeling of slight unbalance. It increased as they entered the old house. Their interest grew and so they decided to camp on the place as they investigated on the odd experience.

Deciding that this could be of public interest, the 2 boys started to fix the cabin to make it safe. They developed demonstrations that can be experienced along the tour.
