In 1877, New Yorker Seymore Tubbs came to Custer and built a Victorian Gothic mansion that became the city?s center of activity for many years. Later on, the mansion ? among other things ? was turned into a local church, a preschool, and a tourist attraction called the ?Monster Mansion?.

The Custer Mansion Bed and Breakfast offers five charming rooms with period decor: Evergreen, Shenadoah Jacuzzi Suite, Rose of Sharon, Morning Dew, and Evening Star & Mexicali Rose, which featuring adjoining rooms that are perfect for families. In the early days of the mansion, the rooms had been used by the nanny and the owner?s young children. All rooms of the mansion are equipped with air-conditioning and its own hair dryers. Free WIFI access is also provided throughout the mansion.
