Although its formal name is the South Dakota Auto Museum, most people simply refer to it as the Pioneer Auto Show. Established in 1954, the auto antique museum doesn’t just house a collection of antique cars – although there’s certainly a lot of that to check out, considering the museum currently has over three hundred vintage cars in its possession. Besides that it also has over sixty trucks, tractors, and motorcycles.

But don’t think that the Pioneer Auto Museum is just about cars. The Murdo-based museum is also the owner of a fantastic and eclectic collection of toys, from music boxes to pinball machines as well as hundreds of rare samples of Zeitner rocks, gems, and fossils.
