Discover the history and legacy of South Dakota aviation at the South Dakota Air and Space Museum. This aviation museum is located outside the Ellsworth Air Force Base in Box Elder, South Dakota. The museum is part of the National Museum program of the US Air Force.

South Dakota Air and Space Museum is dedicated to displaying to and educating the public not only about the history and milestones in US Air Force history, but the local aviation history of South Dakota, as well. Every summer, aviation buffs and visitors alike can take a bus tour into the museum. Part of the tour is the exploration of the historic Minuteman Missile Training Launch Facility.
The museum?s exhibits include 4 different missiles, 25 historic aircrafts, an exhibit of a 1930s Stratosphere Balloon Launch, and the South Dakota Aviation Hall of Fame.
