The South Dakota Hall of Fame lets visitors learn some interesting facts about famous, prominent, and influential people in South Dakota. It hosts induction ceremonies that induct up to 15 individuals to one of the 5 Categories of Recognition.

The South Dakota Museum gives honor to the individuals who have made an impact and change to the great State of South Dakota and to the individuals who strive to secure the state’s future developments. It honors the accomplishments of those people so that the people will know that the state’s rich and fascinating heritage resulted from the hard work of people.

It is the only resource in the South Dakota that is dedicated entirely to preserving and extending the heritage of the state.
