This science museum is dedicated to educating and promoting the science of energy, particularly nuclear energy, to both children and adults. It also aims to chronicle the city?s role in the Manhattan Project, the World War II top-secret research project that gave birth to the first atomic bomb and ushered the nuclear age.

The museum opened shortly after the war in 1949. It was previously named as American Museum of Atomic Energy and has since been renamed into AMSE in 1978. The museum?s exhibits and attractions include robots, a NOAA weather station, charts, graphs and timelines of atomic technology, an electric sphere, science puzzles, a Van de Graaff generator, and solar energy models.
