The Belle Meade Plantation is located in the southwestern part of the center of the city which was created in 1853. It is a good yet ancient looking mansion in the south and is set in one of the best plantations there could be in Tennessee. All the huge stone columns that were able to sustain a lot of bullets through the proof of its holes still remain to be witnessed by every visitor. All these happened during the Nashville Battle and the rebel and union force who fought right in front of the yard.

Its grounds include a log cabin that is aged since 1790 plus a smokehouse that dates back to 1820. It also is home to an 1884 creamery and an 1840 mausoleum.
