The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum showcases the roots of country music with some of the most legendary instruments, unique lyric sheets, memorabilia of classic and contemporary artists and so much more. Functioning also as an international arts organization, the museum was created on April 1, 1967 by the Country Music Association and serves both visiting and non-visiting audiences including members of the music industry, scholars, students and the general public. The old location of the museum shut down on December 30, 2000 but the CMF held a grand opening of its new $37,000,000 facility on May 17, 2001, a short ten blocks away in downtown Nashville.

Inside the new halls of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum is a vast collection of historic country video clips and recorded music, dynamic exhibits and state-of-the-art design, regular menu of live performances and public programs, Museum Store, on-site dining, and fabulous public spaces all contributing to an unforgettable museum experience.
