The Davy Crockett Birthplace State Park is a state park and historic site in Limestone, Tennessee. It was created in honor of Davy Crockett, one of the best known American folk heroes.

Crockett, best known for his “brazen acts of mythical proportion”, was a former colonel in the Lawrence County, Tennessee militia. He also served in the state legislature where he opposed many of the policies of President Andrew Jackson, especially the Indian Removal Act. He also took part in the Texas Revolution and died at the Battle of the Alamo.

The Davy Crockett Birthplace State Park preserves his traditional birthplace and commemorates his life and times through a replica of his birth cabin. There’s also a museum and a large campground at the site.
