Shiloh National Military Park was established in 1894 and is one of the earliest national battlefield parks in the United States. It?s about 3,972 acres. There were park roads build in the battlefield so that visitors can easily roam around in the park. The parkways lead to many monuments and markers that can be found in the park.

Besides markers and monuments that represent different historical events in the battlefield. The park also houses a cemetery where the soldiers and some individuals are buried. In the Shiloh Military Park, there is the Corinth Battlefield visitor center which is in the border of Mississippi, contains 14 historic sites related to the occupation of Corinth. The Corinth Battlefield Unit can be is located around the visitor center.

Some visitors are also interested to know if their relatives or ancestors fought in the Civil War. The Shiloh National Military Park has a Civil War Soldier and Sailor System in which visitors could look up their ancestors. There are also many living programs and special events around the park in some parts of the year.
