The Standing Stone State Park is a state park and recreation area in Hilham, Tennessee. It offers 11,000 acres of area on the Cumberland Plateau.
Named after the Standing Stone, which is a 12 foot tall upright rock perched atop a sandstone ledge originally used as a boundary line by Native Americans back when the area was still inhabited by them, the Standing Stone State Park offers opportunities for swimming, camping, fishing, boating, hiking, and picnicking, among other things.
The creation of the Standing Stone State Park helped save the area from massive soil erosion. It also relocated the farmers to better land through the joint efforts of the Civilian Conservation Corps, Work Projects Administration, Resettlement Administration, and the US Forest Service.
