The American Airpower Heritage Museum is a World War II artifacts museum located within the Commemorative Air Force (CAF) Headquarters in Midland, Texas. The museum is known for its massive collection of World War II artifacts, memorabilia and galleries, which tells the aviation story during the war. The museum is considered to hold the largest World War II military collection among private museums today.

Opened in 1965, the American Airpower Heritage Museum houses World War II artifacts which were donated to CAF. The museum also houses a large research library and archives significant historical data, all of which are available to the public. During fall, an annual AIRSHO is hosted by the CAF, which showcases a variety of vintage aircrafts and aerial stunts.

The exhibits at AAHM museums display the complete chronological story of World War II military airpower. The exhibit includes the American Combat Hall of Fame which honors the people who served during the war; 507th Fighter Group Gallery, which displays the last group to engage in battle during the World War II; the Polikarpov I-16 gallery displays the first cantilever-winged monoplane with retractable landing gear, which was prominently used during World War II.

One of the highlights of the museum is the Main Museum Gallery where you follow the events on how the war on Europe started to the aerial attack on Pearl Harbor. Films and memorabilia are also added to the displays on the museum which makes the experience more real-life and interactive. A recent addition to the main gallery is the USO: Hope for America Exhibit which displays a gallery of American forces serving foreign counties during the World War II. The exhibit celebrates the history of the USO.

The Roy Grinnell Art Gallery, which was opened in 2009, features paintings of world-renowned aviation artist Roy Grinnell. Lastly, stroll in a B-17 Bomber as you discover the story of Peter Hurd, where he painted the war, not from imagination but from the experiences of actually living in combat.

The museum is open on Tuesdays to Saturdays 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year.
