The Brazoria County Historical Museum acts as the Historical Resource Center for Brazoria County. It is a repository for material that focuses on the history of Texas. It works primarily for the collection, organization, and preservation of information and artifacts that are related to the people, events, and places in the County of Brazoria. Through this, it is also able to help researchers locate these materials.

The Museum’s collections include government records, books, publications, artifacts, maps, oral history tapes, photographs, newspapers, microfilm, artwork, videotapes as well as the archives of the people, families, businesses, institutions, and other organizations. These items are mostly unique and they document a significant part of the area’s history.

In order to provide its visitors a more extensive source of information, the Museum continues to seek additional materials and donations that could increase its collections.
