The Cowboy Artists of America Museum, organized in June 1965, is the national headquarters of the Cowboy Artists of America. Having formed the Museum, several western artists formed a group to perpetuate the culture and history of the American West by using fine art and to continue the realistic, representational tradition of artists like Frederick Remington and Charles Russell.

The Museum today is located in a 14,366-square foot-building which was designed to complement with its southwestern environment. Built using materials from its region, it houses a number of galleries as well as a library that contains a lecture gallery, an extensive video collection, and its guest house and studio which is used by member artists. Intended to be the venue for exhibiting the works of the Cowboy Artists of America members, the museum also presents numerous workshops, lectures, and seminars for art students and the public.
