John Cleary Gallery

The John Cleary Gallery is a fine art photography gallery located in Houston, Texas. The gallery focuses specifically on exhibition of photos taken by notable photographers from around the United States.

The John Cleary Gallery opened its doors to the public in 1996 in art hotspot known as ?Gallery Row? and has seen a steady increase in followers which has turned the simple gallery into the premiere photography gallery within the Houston area. The gallery has showcased world-class exhibits such as founder John Cleary's own collection of photos of children which has been dubbed as the ?Kid Collection.?

The gallery also features the French street photography from the 1950s that has been a long time part of the exhibit. The Houston-based gallery also serves as an art dealers' paradise as it has been selling prized works by famous photographers ever since it opened.

The gallery that John Cleary started has also become an active member of the Association of Photography Art Dealers or AIPAD since 1998. The membership of AIPAD has brought some great activities for the John Cleary Gallery including the group's annual photography show which is usually shown during spring. Other events where the art gallery has joined forces with AIPAD also includes the Photo LA exhibit which is held annually every January.

The John Cleary Gallery also plays host to photobook launching events by both local and international photographers such as the Mitch Dobrowner book launching. Aside from that, it welcomes art or photo submissions from amateurs and unsigned professional photographers. These submissions are usually compiled and screened by esteemed and respected photographers once a year, or in some cases, twice a year.
