The John F. Kennedy Memorial in Dallas, Texas is a tribute to the man who changed the city as well as the entire world. Dedicated on June 24, 1970, it has already become a significant part of the city?s cultural heritage.

Designed by well-known architect Philip Johnson, the simple structure, having an open tomb, aims to promote reflection and remembrance. It is square and roofless. Inside, one can find a granite square engraved with Kennedy?s name. His name, engraved in gold, is actually the only text that can be seen inside the room.

The John F. Kennedy underwent a conservation treatment on its 30th anniversary. The City of Dallas, the Dallas County and the Museum organized the major restoration in 1999. Local suppliers donated an ample amount of time, labor, and supplies to restore the memorial to its original state and beauty.
