The Kemah Boardwalk is a hotel and restaurant complex whose main attractions it its many restaurants that boast scenic views of the Galveston Bay as well as a wide array of amusements, a number of fascinating retail stores, various festivals and seaside shows every day.

Opened in 2001, Kemah Boardwalk was developed by Landry's restaurant and is now home to a number of family-oriented activities such as midway games, shopping, and even a miniature train that spans through the entire area. Other attractions for the whole family to enjoy are a 65-foot Ferris wheel, a 36-foot carousel and a new wooden roller coaster called the Boardwalk Bullet.

One of Kemah Boardwalk's highlights include the South End Historic District which houses a number of local, family owned businesses whose strongest appeal is its quaint, family feel to it. Businesses found in the District range from bed and breakfasts to shopping, as well some candy stores. If you want to have the option of having many cottages to choose from, then you're probably going to enjoy The Clipper House Inn. Other shopping attractions to enjoy include The Enchanted Christmas Cottage, Kemah Candles and Soaps, Boardwalk Fudge and Berdans.

Decorating the sidewalk are different carnival-style games with a starting price of $2.00 per game. For the rides section, the most popular of which is the Boardwalk Beast, a 140-passenger open-deck speedboat that takes the passengers out into the Galvenston Bay for a 25-minute wild and wet fun ride of up to 40mph. Take note though that if you indulge in this treat, you will probably get soaked. All attractions are individually priced, although you can opt instead to get an unlimited wristband option.

The Kemah Boardwalk today is the nearest recreational and entertainment park located in the Houston area since the Six Flags Astroworld closed shop. Kemah Boardwalk is open daily for locals as well as tourist to enjoy.
