The Old Red Museum of Dallas County History and Culture began in 1892 with the restoration of the Old Red Courthouse. Today, the museum is the proud owner of one of the country?s finest collection of historical artifacts that symbolize Dallas County?s heritage.
When visiting, be sure to check out the first floor?s special exhibit gallery as well as the museum?s learning center, which is equipped with forty-one touch screen computers. The museum also offers visitors the use of 4 mini-theaters.
Over the years, the museum has been the recipient of several awards, including the 2008 Facility of the Year, the 2010 Bride?s Choice Award from the Wedding Wire Network, and one of the top winners of Legoland?s Miniland Poll.
Locating the museum is very easy as it is adjacent to none other than the JFK Memorial & Dealey Plaza, both of which belong to a district registered as a National Historic Landmark.
