The Republic of the Rio Grande Museum is found in the building that once served as the capitol of the Republic. It has wide displays of historical items which include pioneer household things, saddles and other forms of weapon. It is operated by a nonprofit group called the Webb County Heritage Foundation that was chartered way back in 1980. It has an aim of promoting tourism education and ways of historical preservation.

It is found next to the La Posada Hotel which is also a historical site. It presently features various memorabilia items from the Republic of the Rio Grande that was short lived. It also has restored rooms which include an office, a kitchen and a bedroom. It also renders guided tours for students and adults.
