The Sam Houston Race Park in Houston, Texas is a horse race park and the first of its kind to also play host to various entertainment events and concerts. The park opened its doors to the general public in April 24, 1994. Sam Houston Race Park also holds the record for the first ever horse racing facility for Class 1 Horse racing.

The place was constructed with a total budget of $90 million for its construction. The largest attendance to date for the park was a total of 32,177 which occurred in 2008 for the Independence Day.

The Sam Houston Race Park is mostly known through Texas and the rest of the United States as a premiere destination for horse racing events. The biggest horse racing competitions that the park hosts includes the Thoroughbred Horse Racing and the American Quarter Horse racing competition. Other annual events that the park plays hosts to includes the Grade III #200,000 Connally Breeders? Cup Turf as well as the $45,000 Fort Bend Country Stakes.

Other attractions for tourists who would like to go for an alternative tour around Texas includes eight different bars which are strategically positioned around the Sam Houston Race Park as well as two different restaurants. There are a total of six different suites that accommodate guests in the Race Park including the Grandstand Suites, San Jacinto Suite, Director?s Suite, Sam Houston Suite and the House Suite.

The place also serves as a concert venue for local events. The Sam Houston Race Park is the home of the annual ZiegenBock Music Festival. There are a variety of different small events that are also held in the park which caters to a lot of country music fans around Texas. Some notable country singers who have performed in the park include Gary Allan and the Randy Rogers Band.
