Seaworld San Antonio is a combination of a theme park, an oceanarium and marine mammal park found in San Antonio, Texas. The park opened in 1988 and welcomed a staggering 78,000 on their opening day alone.
The Seaworld San Antonio Park is the largest among the three Seaworld parks around the United States which includes Seaworld San Diego and Seaworld Orlando. The regular park hours are 10:00 am to 9:00 pm.
The park has been the home to several killer whales, seals and dolphins as well as a plethora of fishes. Seaworld San Antonio has been coming out with several killer whale shows. Seaworld San Antonio currently has six different killer whales that all live separately in 7 million gallon tanks which has been called the ?Shammu Theatre.?
Seaworld San Antonio also houses 28 individual dolphins all with their own names and also performs in their own shows. The park is also home 10 beluga whales, one of which is on loan from Seaworld San Diego.
This 250 acre aquatic based theme park is also the base of operations of several roller coaster rides and other thrill rides. The roller coasters operating on Seaworld San Antonio include The Shammu Express, Steel Eel, dubbed as a hypercoaster and can hit maximum speeds of up to 70 mph. Other roller coasters still operating in the park are ?The Great White? which started its operation in 1997 with a top speed of 80 mph and the first ever ?aquatic roller coaster called ?Journey to Atlantis.?
Seaworld San Antonio is also serving new dishes thanks to several diners and restaurants situated around the park. These restaurants include Rio Grille, Polar Parlor, Rosita?s Caf?, Seafire Grille, Sea Star Market and Caf?, Castaway Caf? and Shammu?s Smokehouse. There are also several shows for visitors to catch on their visit to Seaworld San Antonio including ?One Ocean,? Cool Vibrations and Pirates 4-D.
