First and foremost, the Buckhorn Museum & Saloon is easily located, being just a walk away from other top San Antonio attractions such as the Riverwalk and the Alamo.

The Buckhorn Saloon had been opened for more than 129 years and well known since its founding as one of the city?s best places to enjoy great food and conversation as well as amazing wildlife exhibits. Nowadays, the saloon also operates as a museum. Besides the Buckhorn Museum, the Buckhorn Saloon also operates the recently opened Texas Rangers Museum. Also found the site is a shooting gallery and gift shop.

The Buckhorn Museum is made famous its record-holder exhibit, the 78 Point Buck, a whitetail deer specimen that saloon owner Albert Friedrich had purchased in 1890 for only $100. Other wildlife specimens displayed in the museum include an Irish Elk skull of pre-historic origins and other animal oddities.
