Witte Museum is considered by many as one of the best San Antonio museums. This natural history museum offers visitors an insider?s look of not just natural science, however, but also the rich and elaborate history and culture of South Texas.

At Texas Wild, the natural history museum displays the way habitats can shape the behaviour and even the appearance of animals. While at this part of the museum, make sure you check out Animals Alive, which are filled with live specimens of snakes, spiders, bees, and other animals.

Other interesting sections of the museum include Dino Hall and Unwrapping the Past, which showcases mummies and life in Ancient Egyptian times.

Outside the Witte Museum, check out Old San Antonio with various historic homes and log cabins. There?s the Ruiz House, home to the first schoolmaster of San Antonio, and the Log Cabin, which was built in 1939 and part of the National Youth Administration program of Pres. Roosevelt.
