The state of Utah is blessed with a wealth of breathtaking sceneries and geographical features. Adding to these Utah natural treasures is the Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park. This state park is located between Mount Carmel Junction and town of Kanab in Southwestern Utah. Established in 1968, the park was named after its distinctive coral pink-colored sand dunes. The park also features red sandstone cliffs.

These pink dunes were formed from the erosion of the pink Navajo Sandstone, which abound in the areas around the park. Winds pick up these loose particles and deposit them onto the nearby area, forming the pink sand dunes over the course of time. These dunes are believed to be somewhere between 10,000 and 15,000 years old.

The park offers recreational activities for visitors who want to experience the dunes. These activities include hiking, off-road driving, camping, nature photography, and biking.
