Founded in 1978, the Children?s Museum of Utah or better known as TCMU opened its door to the public in 1983. The museum initially offered the public with only eight exhibits and by 1998 the TCMU had expanded to 140 permanent exhibits and over 15,000 square feet of public space. On September 2006 the museum was opened its doors to the public at its current location and officially became the current Discovery Gateway.

The Discovery gateway was designed for kids and kids at heart, all the exhibits in the museum are all interactive and hands-on. Kids can play music together on a giant marimba in a garden located in the second floor of the museum and just behind the garden is the Kid?s Eye view where a kid sized-town where kids can enjoy shopping in the market, construct build in the construction zone or feed the animals on the Utah Family Farm, all of these are dedicated just to children below the age of three.

Everyone is welcome in the Museum whether kids or kids at hear or even adults; everybody will enjoy what the Discovery Gateway has to offer.
