The Rockland Ranch can be considered as a commune. It was built by Robert Dean Foster, an excommunicated polygamist Mormon, who decided to look for a safe place for his big family in any case that the end of the world comes.

The story of Rockland Ranch is basically Forster?s method to keep his family safe from the impending world chaos. He made caves by blasting some rocks, outside the Moab area in Utah. He then built dwellings inside it to house his 3 wives and 38 children.

For a time, Foster also opened an Inn within his commune, which he named the Rockland Ranch Inn. Today, the place is still open for visitors, although the creator has already passed away in 2008.
