Its elliptical dome roof is near impossible to miss. The Salt Lake Tabernacle is an architectural landmark located at Salt Lake City?s religious center, the Temple Square. Along with the Salt Lake Assembly Hall and Salt Lake Temple, the Salt Lake Tabernacle is a living testament to the history and legacy of the Mormon religion, or officially known as Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Constructed from 1863 to 1875 and renovated in 2005-2007, the tabernacle is home to the world-renowned, Grammy Award-winning Mormon Tabernacle Choir. It also used to be the home of the Utah Symphony Orchestra, and the radio & TV program, Music of the Spoken Word. The interior of the building is famous for its excellent acoustic qualities. The thousand-pipe Tabernacle Organ is also housed inside this building.
