Tuacahn is a 42,000 square foot (3902 m?) Amphitheatre and Center for the Arts built in the shadow of Padre Canyon, a 1500-foot spectacular red sandstone cliff in Ivins, Utah. The facility was completed in 1995 and includes a 1,920 seat outdoor amphitheater, a 330 seat indoor theater, a black-box theater, a dance studio, a recital hall, a costume shop, classrooms and a souvenir shop. "Tuacahn" comes from a Mayan word meaning "Canyon of the Gods."

The Amphitheatre was originally built to showcase an outdoor musical which celebrates the founding of the state of Utah, but has since shifted its emphasis to the Broadway musical. Tuacahn is committed to providing family entertainment and at the same time expose high school students to the world of musical theater.

Tuacahn was the brainchild of Utah playwright Doug Stewart who was also the creator of the musical "Saturday's Warrior." Today, the Tuacahn Amphitheater is famous for presenting professional large-scale musical theater productions as part of the annual "Broadway in the Desert" series.
