Zion National Park was designated in 1919 and is Utah's oldest national park. It is also the most popular park in Utah, taking in around three million visiters every year.

Zion National Park is famous for it's canyon systems which stretch hundreds of miles throughout the park. Hiking, horseback riding, bicycling, and rock climbing are popular both in the canyons as well as above them. There are also many rivers for swimming and inter-tubing. Trails range in difficulty from mild to extremely strenuous, but the payoff of hard hikes are worth it. One trail, Angel's Landing, offers a view of an entire valley filled with forest and towering red mountain faces.

Reservation and first-come-first-serve basis camping are available in Zion year round, and there are many hotels and bed-and-breakfasts located in the nearby town, Springdale, which also boasts many local artistry shops and restaurants.
